OK, let's get to the good stuff and leave the prayers and wishes to the little folk. I got a cousin. He's got a fiance. They're getting married. Whoopidy do da. So how and where can I do some fishing in Omaha next week? There's that river but what the heck's in it and how do I put a hook in that thing's face? Details appreciated. I will buy you and beer and drink it; I will be that grateful. I am a recovering alcoholic but I will go off the wagon for you if you tell me how to catch some fish. I don't care what kind as long as they aren't carp.

Looking for someone to go fishing on the MO with me for Big cats. If you have a boat great, if you want to try it from the shore thats fine with me as well. The wife won't sit by the rier all day and fishing alone isn't that great. I will check back in a few days to see if anyone is interested. I bought a setup just for catfishing the MO.

Does anyone still respond to these posts? I sure hope so!!! Does anyone know where Bismark Lake in Bismark (next to Desloge) Missouri is? I tried to do a web search, but couldn't even find it on the web! I was told a week or so ago by someone that you can night-fish at Bismark Lake, which is in Bismark - about 15-20 mins. from Farmnington, MO. where I live. But I have no idea where this lake is located. I am particularly interested because when I was a kid my parents used to take us night-fishing off of the Big River in Cedra Hill, MO. on their john boat. Well now I have 4 kids of my own & want to pass this thrill/joy/experience along to my own kids, (who've NEVER been night-fishing!) and so far as I know, there is nowhere locally, (other than this supposed "Bismark Lake" that I can't seem to locate online anywhere) so I'm really frustrated. We don't have a johnboat or anything & would just be fishing on the bank - at night if they truly do have night-fishing. It's something every kid ought to experience! If anyone can give directions to Bismark Lake, or knows of anywhere else in St. Francois County Missouri that one can night-fish at, PLEASE let me know right away!!! 573-747-0976, or Semicharmdlife@hotmail.com. Thanks a million for any help, folks. ~Angie

I grew up fishing the midwest and the Georgian Bay in Ontario. I now live in Alaska and spoiled forever on fishing. My 7 year old son caught a 17lb Coho this month and has no idea how reallly amazing that is!

I am looking for spots for a friend of mine in Missouri to take her 7 year old son fishing. Any thoughts on what would get a kid excited? I loved fishing for catfish and bullheads growing up.

I do have to chuckle about the MONSTER walleye reported here. Folks may want to check this link and report their world record walleyes :o)

TIA

If you fish at Parkville fish when the rive is up in this little creek that dumps into the river the fish bite like crazy! Can you catch any Walleye and Bass in the river in the Kansas City area?

I will be visiting the omaha/council bluffs area this summer and am curious to know if there is some good bass fishing in the area? From the fishing reports i have browsed through ,in the Omaha area, catfish seem to be the most popular sport fish to pursue, at least on the missouri river. Not many omaha/council bluffs bass fishin reports though? Quite frankly, (taking nothing away from catting) i am more interested in bass fishing and i will bring my fishin rod with me if there is descent bass populations in the missouri or area lakes. Please let me know if the bass fishing is good enough to justify me toting my rod with me. Thanx,Lerch

I'm fishing on the Missouri river all the times between Sioux City to Homer,Neb. All i fish is for big cats, mostly flatheads, i use 6 to 8 inch live bullheads on the tips of the wingdams and on the rip-raps. Caught some pretty nice ones at about 3 to 12 pounders. Also got 14 setlines on the ripraps and this month i've already caught 8 nice size flatheads, and one big one that was up to 25 pounds. Surprisly caught one big Sauger eye that was 27 inches on 8 inch bullhead. Well e-mail me if you got any good fishing stories or good tips for catching Flatheads. Later Catmens.

Where are the best places around the St. Louis area in the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers? Years ago it was easy to find a spot on the river. But not now with all the casinos. I fish from the bank, for those cats, and now I can't find anywhere in the St. Louis area to access the rivers. Where do I go?

Actually, the Red River in the eastern portion of the State of North Dakota is one of the better catfish fisheries in the upper midwest.

Hey was down on backwater a few times this last week very dagerous ice. Tonight was down at cacktail and after blowing across the ice finally got to go in the house and fish but only managed to catch 1 2lber had some bites on the tip-ups but was too cold to fish we were the only dumb ones out there but hey die hard fishermen. A few people were fishing at beaver after dark. Ice was a good 12 inches think next time we will drive on alot easier than walking a half of mile in 50 mph winds. Come on guys help me out with this page. Share the good spots.
